Singing while video is playing?

Thank you for the great lesson on transposing Camille! I just wanted to ask about the right way to work with the videos. For a while now, I have just sung as the 30DS video is playing but during our lesson the other day I realized that it feels very different when I am just hearing my own voice vs. singing with the video. Should I pause the video and replicate what I am hearing? As side note, I am currently not practicing with an instrument.

Thanks for joining, and that's a good idea, Camila! The reason I'd encourage you to keep singing with the video is so that you stay grounded in the key (with the piano accompanying you); but I do think it's a good idea to do some a capella (unaccompanied) singing. You may find it useful to pause when trying out a new exercise to hear yourself, then rejoin (and maybe turn down the video volume if that helps you).
