good day , is drinking a cold water before singing is really a bad idea and might affect your singing performance?

Hi, Darick! Some claim that cold water causes constriction, which can negatively impact your voice. However, nothing you eat or drink actually touches your vocal folds. I haven't noticed a huge difference when singing after drinking cold water. To be on the safe side, drink room temperature water! The only way to tell if cold water adversely affects you is to do an experiment and see if you notice a difference.
