Sore, fatigued throat after singing

    Hi

I notice that I almost always develop a slightly sore, fatigued throat after singing for some time (not long, maybe >20 minutes). It's not painful, just feels a little irritated.

My guess is that I'm singing with excess tension in my throat, but I'm not sure. I find it hard to tell what I'm doing wrong.

Do you have any advice to identify and resolve the issue?

Thank you so much for your very helpful work!

Hey Isabelle! Vocal strain is something you definitely want to avoid. Creating good habits in the beginning is the key to developing strong vocal muscles and keeping strain to a minimum. Camille did a Live Lesson a while back on this exact subject! You can watch that here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6HRdzfpT20
