Hi, I am able to do vocal fry usually but there are times when I cant do it even if i try to make it and only air comes out. Sometimes this happens after practice. Why might this happen? would losing vocal fry be an indication of voice overuse?

    Thanks,

    grace

Good question, Grace! I haven't encountered loss of fry as the result of overuse, but it's sometimes harder to acccess than at other times. I can imagine that if you've been practicing without fry for a bit, using fry may not come as naturally. Kind of like low notes - they're sometimes harder after you've warmed up! If fry is something you want to use in your singing that day, see if you can fry for a few seconds towards the middle and then end of your practice.

Hi Camille, ohh okay, I think I was well into my warm ups when I tried. I'll try fry before, in the middle etc to see :) thank you.
