Lifting the Soft Palate

Hi Camille. I've just finished the 30 day beginners course and started doing your daily warmups routine. For the mum exercise you said that I had to focus on lifting the soft palate like in a yawn(this made it way easier for me and helped me to stop straining on higher notes), so I wanted to ask you if I should aim to lift my soft palate for every exercise or just for that one? And moreover if I should always lift it when singing?

Hi, Sebastian! No, you don't always need to lift the soft palate - but if it makes your singing easier at times, then keep it in mind! I typically raise my soft palate for high head voice and more "spacious" tone if needed.
