Problem with lip trills

    Hello,

I can't seem to keep a lip trill for more than a few seconds. When I start to blow air, and then bring in the singing note, it seems to stop the trill, I just can't sustain it. I already tried with the help of the fingers below the lips, which helps sustain a bit, but not enough.

Any tips on how to correct this?

    Thank you in advance!

Hi, Luís! It's most likely those muscles around your mouth that just aren't used to holding that position - in which case, it will become easier to sustain over time. You might also try blowing more or less air to see if that's a contributing factor.

You might also consider straw singing as a lip trill alternative if you prefer that!
