Question about the right way of breathing

    Dear vocal coach,

first of all I want to thank you for the interesting lessons, I'm enyoing them very much!

I've learned before that while breathing in, the belly... goes out and then (during singing) slowly back inwards.

Vocal coach Camille says that the belly has to go out and down and not in, but it is allready out, so how is this possible?

Please explain to me how to do it right.

    Thanks a lot,

    Keren.

Hi, Keren! Your belly will naturally come back in, but I encourage you to think "out and down" to avoid collapsing, stay engaged, and slow the release of air. Hope that helps!
