Hi, my wife is a very good singer in choir, gospel etc.

I found this course the other day and was doing the warm up and she said "Damn I didn't think you could sing" and went on with if I can sing the warmups like I was then I should be able to sing songs ok also.

Now the problem, I recorded some song on my phone and to me when listening they sound "flat". The wife says it's because I'm not getting the feeling into the words/lines.

I have gone through the "flat" tutorial and some great tips but still when I'm singing lyrics to me it sounds flat...any tips?
Since scales, warm ups etc I don't here the same flatness when I've recorded them to check

Hi, Norm! It sounds like you may be referring to "flat affect" rather than flat intonation. For that, I'd recommend the following:

- Add vibrato at the ends of sustained notes or phrases

- Connect to the story and the emotion by singing to a specific person / about a specific event in your life

- Incorporate dynamic variety

- Consider other stylistic effects like: breathiness, vocal fry, runs, etc
