Throat Tension

Hi, I am brand new to 30day Singer.  I am attempting to increase my range a few notes higher.

I feel my biggest challenge is that everytime I try to sing above a B3 my throat cloees up horribly.  It seems involutary, no matter how hard I try to keep it open.

    Any tips on this?

I'd recommend accessing your head voice for higher pitches: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulbI64OnfDI. Eventually, you can find that "middle" zone - but many low-voiced singers start to strain around B3-D4, pulling chest voice function up. Finding lightness and flexibility with head voice will help you eventually access those medium-high notes in chest voice and mix!
