    We're thinking about expanding the belly, then keeping that low abdominal engagement so the throat doesn't have to work too hard to hold back air. 

    It will probably start to contract - you're definitely using air when you sing, so you'll feel some air on your hand and your belly will contract a little (as their air is used). Most important is keeping your posture tall and your ribs up!
