    Hi Camille,

My throat feels dry after breathing exercises. I get that more effortful to swallow feeling. Can we strain from exhaling for exercises?

Exercises I have done sitting down are the hiss and another exercise by breathing through nose and then exhaling through the mouth until out of breath. Thank you, From Sam

Hi, Sam! It's most likely that the dryness you're feeling is the result of air passing over your vocal folds (and drying them out).

I encourage you to spend less time on breathing alone, and try to apply that feeling of support to something sung (like a lip trill). That will help you train good breath technique and be significantly less drying.

Hydrate. Drink water. It is essential to healthy body and healthy vocal box. Water hydrates the muscles and your larynx is a muscle.
