So I just started this course, and I would like to know if vocal fry is something that actually help the form of your voice, the tone or in general make your voice sounds better. Because some o f my friends tell me that they actually try to get rid of it. Anyone can explain it to me??

Hey, Gianmarco! You're right - vocal fry isn't desirable in every genre. You won't hear vocal fry in classical or operatic music, for example. And some people use vocal fry out of habit, rather than as a stylistic choice. It's well studied that vocal fry can sound "lazy" or "annoying" to people as well.

However, vocal fry is used therapeutically (to relax the folds or bring them together in mixed voice) and stylistically (in pop/rock/r+b music, to add emotion and grit).
