Singing through my nose

So I've been using this course on and off for about a year now. I seem to sing in my nose for higher notes. Kind of the Bob Dylan thing. Anything in the c3 range feels like I am just talking and not really singing. It's bland and dull. My tone seems to happen when I push it a little more with my chest and hit the higher range. Anything above E4 seems to go more in my nose. If I have any allergies (Florida) going on I can't sing at all. It's like a blockage that causes me to push in my throat and ends up hurting. At one point I hit G4 but it was strained I will admit. For reference, I am 53 and a hobbyist singing guitar player. How can I sing without going into my nose so much?

Great question! I have a few ideas for you:

    1. Watch this short lesson with 3 tips to reduce nasal tone - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RedpmKSRsb4&pp=ygUYbmFzYWwgdG9uZSAzMCBkYXkgc2luZ2Vy

    2. Watch this lesson on head voice for male singers: https://www.30daysinger.com/tutorial/head-voice-falsetto-for-male-singers/1

    3. Slide from chest to head voice first on OO (as in cool), then OU (as in would or should), then UH (as in bug). Each of those vowels should encourage a neutral to low larynx and a darker tone quality.
