    Hello everyone

Are there any tips or exercises for thickening your vocals or does that just come with time and plenty of practise?

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Hi, Michael!

A few things to incorporate for a fuller sound:

    1. Wider vowels (think HEY and YEAH, with your mouth in a wider shape than OH or OO).

    2. More "chest voice" or "speaking voice" quality. Try speaking on-pitch and then singing.

    3. More resonant space - see here for a lesson on resonance.

    4. Greater connection to your body & support muscles: say HEY or WOAH, projecting across the room, and notice how your belly engages to support that sound. We want those same muscles engaged when we sing!
