hello!

whenever i belt extremely high, like at the top of my belt range, the tone kind of starts to sound very shouty and it doesn't really sound good. what are some things i could do to fix this?

If I'm not wrong, when you go higher , you have to keep the vowel narrow. Like sing on " UH" and "OH"  Don't open your mouth wide instead open it vertically. Maintain the UH position while belting.

A little correction @Galaxy girl. Use the "UH" and "OH" vowel when you belt up high, but when you are in head voice/falsetto, you could keep more wide sometimes to increase brightness which will sometimes make high notes easier I think(Correct me if I'm wrong). Also @Noah, if you want to keep the same volume, I suggest you to first whisper what you're about with consitent airflow(consistent airflow is the key!) and then sing it normally while trying to keep consistent airflow. Aaron, yes I was actually talking about belting since that was the question. And from what I know you are right about the headvoice. 

Here's a lesson for you, Noah! And yes, Galaxy girl, that's exactly what I'd suggest: UH or OH shape (instead of a wide HEY or YEAH shape).
